The avant-garde of architecture is always heading towards new horizons. For everyday activities, however, there are other aspects that are in the focus of architectural attention. Amongst these are especially the freedom of designing a building in terms of its outer appearance and the necessity of developing a structurally durable construction with satisfactory load-bearing capabilities. Another focus is on the need of implementing the desires of the builder and, as a matter of fact, taking into consideration the financial resources that are available for this purpose. All these aspects continue to speak for the use of concrete as a construction material.
