Stairway Made from Carbon Reinforced concrete

Construction Component Design and Development

Carbon reinforced concrete is becoming increasingly more important in the construction industry. Alongside its applications in strengthening existing building structures, such as steel reinforced concrete columns or slabs under bending, this composite is being employed more frequently in new construction work. In the latter case, façade slabs, for example, would be a large field of application. This article will present yet another field of application, in which the new carbon reinforced concrete construction method offers great potential for new construction components. A stairway system made of carbon reinforced concrete will be introduced that provides storage space for the most varied kinds of objects, for example, technical modules for living autarkically, besides fulfilling essential mandatory requirements as regards load-bearing capacity and functionality.
