Wall elements made of polystyrene concrete –an interesting alternative

This proprietary-developed construction system is an interesting alternative to conventional, insulating types of wall construction, such as sandwich elements or walls with full thermal insulation. Polystyrene concrete is a lightweight concrete with a dense microstructure consisting of cement, expanded polystyrene, fine sand, water and additives. The density amounts to only ρ = 300 kg/m3. The wall elements made of polystyrene concrete are ready to install and factory-fitted with all installations (electrical fittings, windows, doors); the surface is already provided with the external priming plaster. The maximum dimensions are 4.1 x 2.7 m and the standard wall thickness is 280 mm. The elements manufactured in the former house building collective are used exclusively as non-supporting walls in residential construction.
