A few years ago, Assyx invested in a processing plant for production boards, about which we already reported in detail in CPI 5.2020. The principle is simple: Used and slightly damaged production boards are collected from the concrete plant and brought to Assyx in Andernach. This is where the production board is sanded and cleaned by a fully automatic board sanding system. Any damaged areas of the plastic coating are then repaired with polyurethane. The production boards, called Assyx DuroBoard Re-use, then are ready for use again and the service life for the customer is extended by many years. This investment has delivered the expected major benefits over time. This is why the company recently re-invested to further increase the line's performance. Assyx is also breaking new and exciting ground in the recycling of discarded production boards and has made great progress in its endeavours to achieve a closed raw material cycle.
