At the beginning of the year, Kann Baustoffwerke GmbH began operations at its twenty-first production facility. With this new plant in Herbolzheim, north of Freiburg, the company has moved closer to the French and Swiss border and is therefore even better equipped to compete in this region. The project was implemented on a greenfield site in Herbolzheim. The result is an impressive concrete block facility with generous amounts of space, improved working conditions and, of course, modern machine technology for quality products in very large quantities. The system components for the new production complex were supplied mainly by two companies. Kann commissioned Teka Maschinenbau GmbH from Edenkoben with the construction of a complete mixing facility including aggregate storage to manufacture quality concrete for new concrete products, whilst Hess, from Burbach-Wahlbach, supplied the concrete block machine and the complete handling and cubing systems for circulation on the wet and dry side. The facility was supplemented with an aging unit and a shot blasting machine.
