In co-operation with the iBMB of the Technical University of Brunswick, the Max Bögl company from Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz recognised at an early stage the work and time advantages which can be gained by the use of self-compacting steel fibre reinforced concrete (SCSFRC). Under the leadership of Prof. Falkner, scientific work was carried out at the iBMB of the Technical University of Brunswick which gave rise to additional possible uses of SCSFRC for components subject to bending and shearing stresses, such as prestressed precast concrete girders.
