At the beginning of 2007, the French company Plattard industry wanted to modernize its production facilities to fit high quality, productivity and versatility requirements. Thus, the new production unit had to manufacture on metal boards concrete blocks and kerb stone. Products had to be manufactured with a height tolerance less than one millimetre. Concrete blocks should be treated in the production line after 36 to 48 hours of maturation. The cubing system had to be installed in a reduced space and needed to adapt to the multitude of products. Finally the production unit had to operate in closed circulation with a production rate of one pallet of 60 blocks in less than 60 seconds.
