In terms of sustainability and economics the use of recycled aggregates becomes more and more important in the concrete industry. Especially in Europe – but also in North America and Japan – extensive research has been carried out for readymix and precast concrete. This paper gives an overview on the most important present standards and guidelines for recycled aggregates for concrete and summarizes the specific requirements for raw materials for using them as concrete aggregates.
