Rectangular frame parts and other non-rotationally symmetric cross-sections can be sealed in a similar fashion to round cross-sections with elastomer seals according to the press-on principle with compression and lip seals. Distinction can basically be made between three sealing systems, depending on the dissipation of the sealing and deformation forces in the structure. The requirements for the dimensional and joint tolerances in the frame parts are different for the three sealing systems.
