‘Ceg-Tor’ K. Szubierajski i Spolka Sp. J. is one of the largest producers of ready-mix concrete, paving stones and concrete elements in the region of Torun. The company was established in 1997, at which time everything began with the purchase of the ‘Grebocin branch’ ceramic works in Torun, Ul. Olsztynska 117, which was operative in the ceramics sector. In 1999 a new factory was opened that took up a broad range of concrete elements such as paving stones, blocks and kerbstones. Production was extended by a ready-mix concrete plant in 2007. To this end, a mixing plant made by Elba with 2 mixers was put into operation. Ceg-Tor’s main customers are the region’s largest building contractors, as well as individual customers. Paving companies, road building firms and wholesalers are a further sales market. In order to meet the demands of the growing market in Poland, it was decided to purchase a new block making machine. Among the offers tendered, the decision fell on the plant by Rekers from Germany, which boasted numerous documented solutions and which met the requirements of item 4.4 of the P.O.I.G. subsidy programme. Following the submission of the request for a subsidy, the realisation of the project started in September 2008 under the title: ‘Application of the innovative Colourmix system for the mixing of facing concrete, Ceg-Tor Torun’.
