The indenting for concrete surfaces cast at different times is contemplated in the European Norms either for seismic and non-seismic affected zones. Because of the increased friction in the longitudinal joint between pre-stressed slabs, it is possible to reduce the thickness of the compression layer or to just build the floors untopped if the side indenting is present along the joint.
