Properties of concrete with aggregates made of recycled fresh concrete

Resource-preserving concrete

Within the framework of the BMBF-sponsored joint project "Resource-preserving concrete - material of the next generation (R-concrete)", research is going on at the Institute of Building Research into an innovative method of recycling fresh concrete with the aid of the two-component admixture "Re-Con Zero", which enables unneeded fresh concrete in a truck mixer to be processed into a recycling aggregate. The recycled aggregate produced can subsequently be used to manufacture new fresh concrete. The investigation results presented here characterise the properties of such RC granulates and their effect when used in concrete.
