Electrical installation in the industrial production of precast concrete elements

Kaiser GmbH & Co. KG, 58579 Schalksmühle, Germany

Around the clock, 365 days a year, industrially prefabricated concrete wall and slab elements can be manufactured under controlled environmental conditions, and elements can be easily assembled on the construction site following the principles of modular construction. This leads to significantly reduced construction times, to the calculability of the completion date and to cost-effective completion in optimal execution quality. Due to the characteristics of prefabrication in the factory, it also successfully addresses the increased shortage of skilled workers. Through its production plant renewal, the Bischofsheim concrete plant (bwb), which is part of the FDU Precast Union, has set the course for future orientation of the industrial prefabrication of concrete elements. Among other upgrades, the company invested in a new formwork robot and software solutions for the digital planning, control and production of precast concrete elements, so that precast slabs can now be produced even more efficiently and easily. The acquisition of the formwork robot resulted in significant processing advantages for indispensable built-in parts, such as those required for electrical installations.
