Since its foundation by Heinz Martens in 1881, the Dutch company Koninklijke H.H. Martens & Zoon b.v. has developed from a small construction and stonemasonry company into a producer of building materials in the fields of concrete (Martens beton), plastics (Martens kunststoffen) and ceramics (Martens keramiek) and produces these products with state-of-the-art facilities at several locations in the Netherlands and Belgium. At the Oosterhout site, Martens beton b.v. extensively modernised the concrete pipe production in 2019 and commissioned a new ePak pipe machine from HawkeyePedershaab. This is intended to ensure that the production of quality concrete pipes is in line with the market in the long term. The new pipe production was then to be supplemented with a pipe inspection line specially designed to meet Martens’ needs so that, on the one hand, the quality of the high-grade pipes could be automatically checked and, on the other, they could be reworked (deburred, drilled). This pipe inspection line was supplied and commissioned by the German company Rekers, which can also look back on numerous references in this field.
