When Alfred Gartner founded the company Teka in 1961 with five employees, there was no way of knowing what a success story they would be able to look back on 65 years later. Today, Teka employs around 130 people, and the company continues to thrive. Teka, with its headquarters in Edenkoben in the Palatinate, now comprises five further subsidiaries abroad, an additional production facility in China, and long-established sales companies in the USA, Poland, Spain and France. When naming the company, Alfred Gartner took the name of his mother, Thekla, and simply omitted two letters. Today, the company is run by his three children, Gabi, Markus and Thomas, with support from his grandson Richard in international sales and marketing.
