In the United States, the construction industry ranks number one in work related deaths. Of those deaths, falls were the most common cause, accounting for more than 35% of all construction related deaths last year. This has led OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) to launch a concentrated effort on improving safety in the construction industry. OSHA has increased inspections, and in 2013, fall protection was the number one violation cited by OSHA. These statistics make fall protection a high priority in the precast/prestressed industry.
