Wear protection plays a critical role in maintaining mixer performance and minimizing downtime in concrete production. For producers operating high-volume facilities, extending the life of wear components can significantly reduce maintenance costs and improve equipment availability. Lee Building Products recently evaluated the performance of Alphachrom hard-faced floor liners installed in their Pan mixer. Prior to the upgrade, the mixer was equipped with a different floor liner configuration that typically required replacement after approximately six months of operation. While this service life was acceptable, the frequency of liner changes resulted in additional maintenance planning, labor, and downtime.
