The applicable occupational health and safety regulations prescribe effective extraction from the working environment, in particular where carcinogenic fine quartz dust is generated. Individually designed filter systems for the individual process steps are the state of the art today. The recovery of the waste heat by recirculating the filtered exhaust air makes an important contribution towards increasing the profitability of the extraction, with energy savings of several thousand euros per year. To achieve this, however, the highest demands have to be placed on the filtration technology with regard to the separation grade and safety.
