Last year saw the opening in Kaltenengers in Rhineland-Palatinate of the German pumice museum, in which the production of pumice stones is explained on the basis of a surviving production plant. The museum takes the visitor on a journey through time, starting with the production of Rhenish bricks on a patting table and ending with the present-day products.
