The service life of a concrete structure is one of the main factors to quantify the cost of a concrete pipeline. In general, of a concrete pipe system can be estimated over 100 years. Two methods to calculate the service life of reinforced concrete pipes used in sanitary sewerages or drainage systems are presented, regarding the initiation period when the reinforced concrete is subjected to chloride ion penetration through the concrete cover and the concrete carbonation.
