Last year, the Brüninghoff Group opened its new precast concrete plant in Heiden, Germany, as already reported in the June issue (3/2023) of CPI. The total plant covers a footprint of 35,000 m2, about 40 percent of which is taken up by the production halls and covered outdoor storage areas. The production hall is structured into 3 separate sections and hosts the manufacturing units for columns and other linear construction elements, wall elements and floor slabs. For the acquisition of the necessary new production equipment, Brüninghoff relied on the expertise of several suppliers. For example, the company Kinast supplied a complete circulation system for panel elements, which was custom-designed and planned in cooperation with Brüninghoff. Construx supplied a battery formwork for wall elements and Beta Maschinenbau supplied twin formwork for linear elements such as columns, as well as temporary storage for the circulation system and heavy-duty rail wagons for transporting linear precast elements from the production hall to the external storage facility.
