Technology has changed dramatically in the 2000 years since the Romans used natural pozzolanic cement to build their infrastructure. Advances in material science, demands from modern building techniques, and environmental pressure to reduce a heavy carbon foot print are driving the need for real time quality control to levels never seen before in our industry. In the twenty-first century, pumpable mixes with strengths in excess of 10,000 psi are being designed into world class buildings. Demand for far more advanced mixes are challenging existing production methods for ready mix concrete. It is no secret that the production of new advanced formulations, are difficult to monitor and control after leaving the plant. Up until now, producers have struggled with lack of tools and visibility of delivery-point-quality information thus having varying levels of success in ensuring the quality of the materials at delivery.
