Treatment of imperfections of precast columns

Excerpts of fib Bulletin No. 41, Treatment of imperfections in precast structural elements, Part 3/6

Task Group 6.8 of the fib Commission 6 on Prefabrication recently published a State-of-the-art report about the treatment of imperfections in structural precast concrete (fib Bulletin No. 41). Since this is a very important topic for the precast industry, CPI will publish excerpts of this report in a series of 6 publications. In CPI issue 4-2008 the treatment of imperfections of hollow core slabs were already discussed, followed by issue 5-2008, reporting about the treatment of imperfections for precast beams. In this issue of CPI, the treatment of imperfections of precast columns will follow. The complete report, published in English, is available at the fib in Lausanne.
