Flexible formwork concepts make the free formabilityof concrete possible

New forms for precast concrete elements

With the organic and expressive vocabulary of forms in current architecture, concrete is presently enjoying a renaissance. Thanks to its innovative technical possibilities and working processes, new characteristics and manifestations are appearing. Two qualities of the material are thereby of fundamental importance. On the one hand it is the individual shaping of the surface and on the other the almost unlimited plastic formability of the total structure. Due to these developments, the formal and material-specific form is called into question again and already well-known tectonic specifications such as minimum thickness and flowability are redefined. Concrete simply has no material-specific form; it is redefined depending on the manufacturing process and can be purposefully controlled, both technically and visually.
