The production technology of concrete pavers and the paving processes carried out with them have been known and used in the Latin America and the Caribbean regions with their unique socio-economic, industrial, and technical characteristics for over 40 years. Trends over the course of these years have mirrored current and future challenges in terms of quality, development and know-how that may at first sight look simple and logical, but are nevertheless not being sufficiently perceived within the industry. This lack of perception may lead the industry to fail to engage in activities or arrive at decisions of great significance for its appropriate development, while at the same time the growth of markets calls for the need to create and develop supplier and service companies indispensable for achieving higher levels of technology that satisfy current and future requirements for competitive products especially in the development and construction of public urban spaces.
