Improvements in water tightness and resistanceto acid with concrete pipes

MC-Bauchemie Müller GmbH & Co. KG, 46238 Bottrop, Germany

One of the most important criteria with any work concerning a new construction or repair of sewers is the water tightness of the entire sewer system which, ideally, should last for more than 100 years. However, the concrete pipes that are generally utilised for sewage systems exhibit weaknesses in terms of resistance to acids. MC-Bauchemie has developed a new substance based on the additive Centrilit NC that gives the concrete increased resistance to acid.
