The newest addition to the historic town of Round Top, Texas, comes with a surprising twist. While the town consists of a collection of historic buildings, housing antique and vintage stores, the town’s latest buildings are quite the opposite of historic. Round Top’s newest houses, ‘Las Casitas,’ have been made with a new, cutting-edge construction method: additive manufacturing. Commonly known as 3D concrete printing, this innovative way of building uses robots to precisely place material to create a house, without the need for formwork.
