Today, concrete is an incontrovertible element for the civil engineering industry. To guarantee the quality of the products and manufactured elements, it is necessary to conduct tests on concrete specimens because of the often highly ambiguous resistances obtained. As for compression tests, the choice of specimens focuses on cylindrical or cubical shapes made of steel, plastic or cardboard moulds. Often, the compression surfaces of the specimens are not perfectly smooth. This is so because of the variable quality of the mould bottom and the floating of the upper surface. To guarantee a perfect distribution of the load on the specimens during the compression test, a special surface treatment is necessary.
